Not Everything is Free

It's the new year's time and people/companies are sharing online free calendars, planners, annual planning guides etc.

This is not only with these products only. Some bloggers/websites do share downloadable ebooks.
Companies are providing free wifi at some places.

But, is it really free?

There is a catch though which we miss.

Yes it's free, if you consider money πŸ€‘ as method of transaction.

What they charge you for is your "#data".

Data in the form of a name 🏷️, e-mail ID ✉️, phone numbersπŸ“±, address πŸ“« etc.

Until you give them your data, they will not 🚫 allow to download these products.

Data is now the money πŸ’° what sellers want.

The more they have the data, the more they have the "surface area of luck" to sell you and others the products that they really intended to sell.

They will convert that data to a real piece of money. πŸ’΅ at some point of time.

Knowing or unknowingly we are bartering those products with our own data.

Free should mean "FREE" with "NO TERMS & CONDITIONS".

Click and use. No questions asked. No answers to be shared.

And definitely you should not sell products free of cost if you really worked hard on it. But don't mis-sell it like this.

If you come across any such product which is really free, do share.

Definitely πŸ’― you will not find any.
Outliers are next to God πŸ˜‡.

[By the way : Enjoy a pic of "skirts" in an outdoor 33kV damaged termination along with a supporting insulator in a yard.]

It has no relation with the thoughts expressed above and just an #electricalengineering thing.

Life is unpredictable

Photo Number : One
     Year 2011

Photo Number: Two
.    Year 2021

Photo Number: Three
.      Year 2023

Three diwali photos and three different stories.

πŸ“Œ-First photo of me of the diwali evening from the year 2011 when I was working with my first company at New Delhi.
Taken by my colleague at Sukhdev Vihar Office.

πŸ“Œ-Second photo is from the year 2021, exactly one decade later. A glass window and trees πŸŽ„ visible from my hospital room. Yes ,I was hospitalized due to Covid. A bad year though.

πŸ“Œ-Third photo of me again of the year 2023. Again from the office of my present place of work at Kolkata. Obviously doing night duty at Kali Puja Night.

Three different places and three different scenarios.
Life is unpredictable, sometimes you are enjoying it, sometimes life seems to be ending and in some moments you are giving lights to the life of others.

So, enjoy every moment as you will never know when it will be your last day.

When people blindly believe in data

Today's ICC World Cup 🏏 match between Australia and Afghanistan was one of the best match ever happened.

Glenn Maxwell scored 201* runs against Afghanistan while chasing 292 runs.
Australia lost 7 wickets under 100 runs, but Maxwell along with Cummins played a marvelous innings and Australia won the match.

Earlier win percentage was in favour of Afghanistan with 85%, later on the in changes towards Australia.

One commentator said a beautiful line,

"Ye data hain, vidhata nahi."
(This data not god)

So, one can't just blindly believe in the power of data.
Their are things which is beyond that.

The Only Good Politician is a Dead One?

“The only good wolf is a dead one.”
-
From the book I am reading nowadays,
"Of Wolves and Men" by Barry Lopez (Affiliate Links)

From the present scenario and replacing the word WOLF with POLITICIANS, is it equally applicable?
Choose an option from below πŸ‘‡
(a) Yes.
(b) Option "a".

πŸ”¬A 2010 study by the Harvard Business School graded Mumbai Dabbawala's “Six Sigma”, which means they make fewer than 3.4 mistakes per million transactions.

On a similar note, Six Sigma do applies to politicians where MAY be 3 out of 1M are good 😊.
Exception are always there.

Life 🧬 still flows though. Harvard still conducts research on different topics and Dabbawalla's still delivering the meals with perfection.

So enjoy yours too.

Night Duties are making the life a hell.

Hello

I am doing one of the hardest jobs for the last 10+ years i.e. night shift duties.

One thing I learnt is that it's harder to wake up at 5am in the morning than to stay awake till 5 in the morning.

Even more difficult is to sleep in the morning after doing the night duty. Even though I don't like this life but always try to find out the positive sides of it.
Let us enjoy this life.

Alarm Clocks

A thought

"I wonder how our mothers used to wake us up in the morning without any alarm clocks for school.
Today, it seems impossible for me to do so without an alarm on my mobile. Maybe the tension of getting up early was the alarm for them.

Regards, Aritra"

Believe it or Not.

Hello Friends,
At last got the time to post my first blog post. From the title you may think that i am going to promote any TV Program, but thats not true. Its about a fact which i came to know from a hawker(Thelawala). The incident took place few days back.I was coming from station and the rain started. So i took shelter in the shed of a thelawala(Hawker) near my school. I know that old man very well as i was a regular customer of him since childhood. He is that man who is selling cookies, peties, toffies etc since the inception of my school KV-NO-1 GCF Jabalpur. Meanwhile we started to discuss some topics about climate change , global warming , politics etc. It was a simple, general talk. When the topic came to Global Warming, the thought which he shared with me puzzled me a lot.
The thing which i came to know from him was

" The Sun is coming nearer to Earth day-by-day. That's why temperature is rising and we are getting rain in off seasons."

I really felt bad. Even in this age of communication we are not able to convey about global warming.
Infact we are not able to spread awareness about basic things.
But thanks to my basic knowledge about Global Warming, I explained it to him and many more nearer to him.
Some other things also i came to know i.e. End of earth by 2010 etc.
So what i believe, at least a day of month should be dedicated to awareness programs. Whether it is regarding to global warming or something else.

Believe it or not its true. Hoping for good thoughts and comments.
Thanks.
